  • 1 can chickpeas (rinsed and half of the liquid reserved)
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1.5 TBS sesame seeds
  • 1 garlic clove diced
  • 2 TBS olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds ground
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive oil, paprika and parsley for serving.


  1. Add all ingredients to a high powered blender (including the reserved chickpea liquid) and start off on a slow speed increasing until smooth and creamy. You can add a little bit of cold water whilst blending the hummus for a smoother consistency.
  2. Taste and add a little bit of salt if needed.
  3. Serve with a little fresh parsley, a drizzle of olive oil and some paprika or sumac.
