Amanda

Hey there, I’m Amanda! Travel is probably my first love, shopping would be my second, so I am so excited to now have a job that allows me to do both! I think over the years the places that I have seen and experiences I have had a huge impact on my life, I am now more than ever grateful to live in the country that I do and am passionate about inspiring others (especially our younger generations) to get out and do the same. We have alpacas and chickens on our hobby farm just outside of Byron Bay and other than traveling and shopping I love surfing, swimming and anything crafty! I am so looking forward to bringing you more treasures from all over this enormous globe!

Bec

Hi, I’m Bec. I am one of the Germans that fell in love with Australia. In 2007/08 I did a work-and-travel holiday in this beautiful part of the world. Having seen a lot of Australia during that time, I can honestly say that the Northern Rivers have made me feel at home right away. I always wanted to come back! After spending a decade in Hamburg, I was able to make this dream come true with my family in 2019. I love everything about living here: the ocean, the weather, the landscape, and the people – especially the ones at The Dancing Pixie ;-). I am so grateful to be able to raise my two beautiful boys here surrounded by nature and community. And I am grateful to work in this lovely business with likeminded people. When I am not working or enjoying the outdoors I am knitting jumpers and cardigans that can be found in our shop.

Nicky

It’s so exciting visiting a new city in a new country! The sights, the smells, the people and the buildings all stimulate the senses. To then move on to the countryside and breathe in the scent of the mountains or the salty sea air is a joy to behold. A desire to travel solo is what brought me here in 1993 and now I call Australia home. I fell in love with the underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef and now I am lucky to experience the wonders of living near the ocean every day. I’ve been fortunate to visit parts of Chile and experience the Latino culture first hand, from the Atacama desert in the North to the Lakes in the South. I love working at The Dancing Pixie, as it reminds me of my experiences of travelling to exotic and amazing places, such as Chile and Turkey and I also enjoy meeting the customers who have their own fabulous travel stories to tell.

Lina

Hi I’m Lina. I have been a curious traveller over the years, fortunate to have experienced other cultures and met nourishing likeminded people, that have lead me on the path to where I have created my home and my life by the sea. When I’m not working I’m in the kitchen cooking, growing and pottering in my garden, taking lots of photos, and laughing with my beautiful friends and family. Amanda, Trav and Lyndal have created a treasure trove at The Dancing Pixie Shop, where I have the pleasure of getting to know our lovely locals and visiting customers in person, assisting and providing guidance and sharing travel stories, all from our gorgeous store in Byron!
